Cyan Renewables and Pentarch Offshore Solutions have signed a Strategic Investment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the staged expansion of the Port of Edrom at Twofold Bay, New South Wales, into a multi-user marine, energy and logistics facility. The proposal aims to strengthen Australia's coastal supply chains by expanding infrastructure for fuel storage, critical minerals, shipping and offshore energy services.

The development would build on existing port infrastructure and introduce additional capacity for bulk fuel storage and marine distribution, supporting fuel security across south-eastern Australia. It would also provide potential facilities to store, handle and transport critical minerals, alongside logistics services for Australian coastal shipping.

Offshore energy forms another part of the proposal, with the companies considering facilities to support offshore wind supply chains, marine contractors, offshore decommissioning and related industrial activities. The proposed precinct would serve multiple commercial users rather than a single industry.

Cyan Renewables and Pentarch intend to consult government agencies and industry stakeholders to assess infrastructure needs, commercial demand and investment requirements. The expansion could attract private investment and support regional employment, although no project cost, construction schedule or employment estimates have been announced.

Development would proceed in stages, subject to feasibility studies, regulatory approvals, demonstrated demand and commercial commitments.
