Karpowership affiliate Kinetics Energies will convert a 20-year-old LNG carrier into a floating storage and regasification unit at Seatrium's Singapore yard, extending a conversion programme that has produced seven units since 2018. Seatrium has secured a ninth conversion from Karpowership, with work on the eighth unit already scheduled to begin in early 2027. The new vessel is the former Arctic Voyager, a 2006-built LNG carrier recently acquired and renamed LNGT Akdeniz.

 

Details of the Award

The Vessel

 

The vessel has a defined history. It is the former Arctic Voyager. It is a 2006-built LNG carrier. Kinetics Energies acquired it. This was for 28.5 million dollars in August.

The vessel has been renamed. It is now LNGT Akdeniz. It was previously owned elsewhere. It joins the conversion pipeline. It will become an FSRU.

 

The Conversion Scope

 

Seatrium's scope is comprehensive. It covers engineering and conversion. Integration is also included. Installation and commissioning feature too. This covers regasification equipment and systems.
