Derecktor Shipyards and SoundWaters have welcomed state and local officials to the Mamaroneck shipyard for an inside look at the R/V Brewer, a new educational research vessel under construction for SoundWaters. Commissioned by SoundWaters and designed by Chartwell Marine, the 50-foot aluminium catamaran is scheduled to launch in spring 2027. The vessel will play a key role in expanding SoundWaters’ marine science and environmental education programmes on Long Island Sound.
