Dutch offshore services company Jack-Up Barge has officially introduced JB 121, a three-legged accommodation and services jack-up designed to support offshore wind installation, maintenance and commissioning projects. The vessel was named at Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore in China, with plans to depart for the Netherlands in early November 2026.

The addition follows an acquisition process initiated earlier in 2026 and expands the company's fleet alongside JB 114, JB 115, JB 117 and JB 120. Based on the GustoMSC AJ-series design, JB 121 features three truss legs and a rack-and-pinion jacking system, providing a stable working platform for offshore operations.

The unit can accommodate up to 354 personnel and provides approximately 1,340 square meters of deck space for equipment, storage and project activities. Its lifting equipment includes a 200-tonne safe working load main crane mounted on a cantilever, alongside two auxiliary cranes rated at 50 tonnes each. The configuration is intended to support offshore installation work and maintenance activities requiring personnel accommodation and lifting capacity.

Frank Kees, Managing Director of Jack-Up Barge, said the additional accommodation and crane capacity would let the company support larger, more complex offshore projects, particularly in the offshore wind sector.

Representatives of Jack-Up Barge, Van Es Group and their partners attended the naming ceremony. Yu Yuan, a board member of Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore, served as the vessel's godmother.

The company has not disclosed the acquisition value or confirmed the unit's first commercial assignment. Its planned relocation to the Netherlands will mark the next stage in preparing JB 121 for offshore operations.
