Cadeler has signed a firm contract to support turbine transport and installation at Dogger Bank C, the third 1.2 GW phase of the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm in the UK. The campaign will mark the first deployment of Cadeler's newbuild installation vessel Wind Apex, which is scheduled to join the project from the third quarter of 2027 following delivery from the shipyard.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm is being developed in three 1.2 GW phases, with a total planned capacity of 3.6 GW. Once complete, the project is expected to generate enough electricity to power about six million UK homes each year. Dogger Bank C is the final phase of the wider development, located around 130 kilometers off the north-east coast of England.
Under the contract, Wind Apex will work alongside the project's existing installation vessel to help transport and install 87 offshore wind turbines for Dogger Bank C. The vessel will also remain available for deployment across the remaining phases of the Dogger Bank project, giving the development additional specialist installation capacity.

Wind Apex is the third vessel in Cadeler's A-class series, following Wind Ally and Wind Ace. The A-class vessels are designed for both foundation and turbine installation work and combine high deck load capacity with heavy-lift crane capability suited to newer offshore wind components.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm is a joint venture between SSE, Equinor and Vårgrønn, with SSE leading development and construction and Equinor set to operate the completed wind farm over its expected 35-year operating life. Cadeler has previously worked with SSE on the Beatrice and Seagreen offshore wind farms and is also involved in Equinor-partnered offshore wind projects in Poland.
Mikkel Gleerup, Chief Executive Officer of Cadeler, said the contract reflected the trust placed in the company to deliver large-scale offshore wind installation campaigns. Alan Borland, Turbine Director at Dogger Bank Wind Farm, said the additional vessel capacity would support the safe, efficient installation of Dogger Bank C's turbines and help advance the project's remaining phases.
