TDI-Brooks Wins Geotechnical and Environmental Survey Contract Offshore Timor-Leste

TDI-Brooks, in partnership with Taka Hydrocore Indonesia, has been selected by Timor-Leste's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to execute a light geotechnical and environmental baseline survey programme offshore Timor-Leste in support of the planned TLNG development. The programme will provide data to support the routing of the Gas Export Pipeline from the Greater Sunrise field to the south coast. Field operations are scheduled to commence in mid-January 2027, using the company's research vessel R/V Nautilus.

 

Details of the Contract

 

TDI-Brooks has secured a survey contract. It works in partnership with a local firm. The client is Timor-Leste's petroleum ministry. It covers a geotechnical survey programme. An environmental baseline survey is also included.

The programme supports a major development. This is the planned TLNG development. It is located offshore Timor-Leste. The survey provides supporting data. This underpins the project.

 

The Survey Purpose

 

The survey serves pipeline routing. It supports the Gas Export Pipeline. This runs from the Greater Sunrise field. It reaches Natarbora on the south coast. A second pipeline highway is also covered.

The Survey Scope

 

The geotechnical scope is substantial. It includes around 508 seabed tests. These span gravity CPTs and piston cores. Box cores are also included. Cyclic T-bar measurements complete the tests.

The environmental scope runs in parallel. It covers 16 provisional stations. It collects 40 sediment samples. It also collects 40 water samples. This provides a baseline study.
